The industrial storage and handling of dust carry significant explosion risks. Sparks from electrical short circuits, introducing hot objects into materials, or non-compliance with safety protocols can all lead to catastrophic consequences. This explosion risk is not limited to dust but also includes gases, vapors, and mixtures.
Explosion venting Panels
Explosion venting panels provide an economical and efficient solution for protecting equipment from damage and loss due to explosions during production processes. Under normal operation, they cover the pressure venting openings on equipment. When internal pressure rises, the panels open, safely releasing pressure and flames, preventing damage to the equipment. This technology effectively vents various explosive materials, including light metal dust, gases, and mixtures.
Flameless Explosion Venting Devices
Flameless explosion venting systems offer a viable option for industrial equipment installed in buildings or production facilities. Compared to traditional explosion venting devices with temperatures up to 1500°C, flameless explosion venting devices can cool flames and smoke gases to a level safe for nearby equipment and personnel.
Explosion Suppression Systems
Explosion suppression systems are certified active explosion suppression systems, equipped with high-sensitivity detectors capable of detecting explosions within milliseconds. When an explosion is detected, the system initiates by opening valves in container units. This action triggers the deployment of special telescopic nozzles, ensuring that extinguishers are effectively dispersed throughout the protected area. With the explosion suppression system in place, the increase in explosion pressure is still controlled, kept below the pressure resistance limit of the protected equipment, thus protecting it from destruction. To comprehensively protect the entire technology, it is recommended to supplement the explosion suppression system with chemical barriers to prevent the explosion from spreading to subsequent parts of the equipment.
Explosion Suppression Barrier
The explosion suppression barrier is an active system designed to prevent the propagation of explosions. It rapidly releases extinguishing agents into pipelines, preventing pressure build-up. This barrier is effective in isolating explosions involving St 2 dust, light metal dust, gases, and mixed mixtures. Specially developed pressure and optical detectors continuously monitor the protected area in production technology. Detection can be carried out using either pressure or optical detectors. The activation of the explosion barrier can also be triggered by explosion venting devices. Upon detecting an explosion, these detectors send a signal to the control unit, prompting the suppression container unit to act. Equipped with quick-opening valves, these devices can immediately discharge extinguishing agents into the protected space, forming an effective fire-extinguishing barrier.
Explosion-proof Isolation Valve
The innovatively designed explosion-proof isolation valve has received ATEX certification. It underwent rigorous testing in accredited laboratories, focusing on real conditions in various production processes, ensuring its reliability. This innovation expands the installation possibilities of the explosion-proof isolation valve. Complying with current standards and certifications, it allows installation in both horizontal and vertical pipelines. The explosion-proof flap can be integrated into suction systems with pull or push flows and can accommodate obstacles or bends in the piping between the protected equipment and the valve installation point. Notably, it provides increased pressure resistance (pmax) and higher maximum reduced pressure (pred, max) for the protected container, thereby limiting potential explosion propagation. Recent tests and certifications have reduced the minimum installation distance and extended the maximum distance from protected equipment. The explosion isolation valve effectively contains explosions caused by organic dust, molten dust, coarse dust, and metal dust (up to an explosion level of St 3), including dust with very low Minimum Ignition Energy (MIE) and Temperature (MIT) values. Its redesigned form facilitates installation and operational maintenance.
Rapid Cut-off Valve
The rapid cut-off valve is an essential component of the explosion protection system, used to prevent the spread of explosions within different units of production technology. It acts immediately upon explosion detection. The system relies on specialized pressure and optical detectors for continuous monitoring of the protected area within the production apparatus. Detection can be carried out using either pressure or optical detectors. The activation of the rapid cut-off valve can also be initiated through explosion protection devices. Once detected, the detectors send a signal to the control unit, which activates the shut-off mechanism. The quick-acting slide valve operates pneumatically, ensuring rapid sealing of the pipeline within milliseconds in the event of an explosion. It is suitable for facilities using pneumatic conveying and extraction systems, especially in locations with limited installation space. It is particularly suited for technology subjected to maximum explosion pressure (pmax). Additionally, it features a fail-safe function, ensuring automatic safe closure of the slide valve in the event of a power failure or pressure drop within the protected technology. This device holds certification compliant with EN 15089 standards.
Spark Extinguishing System
In certain industrial processes, the production of sparks and ashes is not uncommon. These particles can be carried by air currents through pipelines or conveyors. Problems arise when these particles reach filtration devices, cyclone separators, or silos, potentially causing smoldering and escalating to fires or even destructive explosions. To reduce fire risk, protect equipment and personnel, and minimize downtime caused by fires, a spark extinguishing system solution is provided. The heart of the spark extinguishing system relies on ultra-sensitive detectors, which can react within milliseconds to the presence of sparks in the conveyance system. Once sparks or a fire are detected, the control unit immediately receives a signal from the detectors, triggering the rapid opening of valves to release pressurized water. The fire extinguishing nozzles in the conveyance system emit a conical water mist, effectively extinguishing unwanted sparks or burning particles. Once the hazard is successfully eliminated, the system automatically returns to standby mode.
Explosion Venting Devices for Battery Energy Storage System
The explosion venting device for battery energy storage system offer an economically efficient solution for thermal runaway protection in electrochemical storage boxes, preventing equipment damage and loss due to explosions in the production process. Under normal operation, it effectively seals the pressure venting openings on the equipment. Once internal pressure abnormally rises, the device quickly activates, safely releasing pressure and flames, thus protecting the equipment from damage. This technology effectively vents a variety of explosive substances, including light metal dust, gases, and mixtures. Our passive venting protection system employs specially designed venting panels to safely guide explosion pressure, ensuring optimal performance in safety and efficiency.
